IEEE FG 2024 will be held as a purely in-person conference. All accepted papers need to be presented in-person in Istanbul, Turkey. There will be NO virtual platform.
Papers accepted as Orals will be presented during a talk and as posters. Researchers with papers accepted as Orals need to present their work: (1) within a 15 minutes slot of the dedicated oral session, and (2) as posters during the dedicated poster session. Please check the conference program for the assigned sessions.
Papers accepted as Poster will be presented orally during a Spotlight Session and during one of the poster sessions.
To find the oral vs. poster designation for your paper, please see the detailed conference program.
Please read through the following instructions to prepare for your paper presentation.
Oral Presentations
- To maximize visibility, papers accepted for an Oral presentation at the main conference will have:
- A 12 minutes talk at a designated Oral session (presentation+ 3 min Q&A = 15 min)
- A Poster presentation at one of the poster sessions
- Presenters are expected to be available for the talk as well as the poster session
- A shared laptop will be available for the presenters during the conference
- Presenters should contact their Session chair at least 10 minutes before the start of their session and copy their presentation on the laptop (as early as possible).
- IMPORTANT: A presentation computer will be available in the main hall for the Oral presentations, and authors will have to copy their presentations to the PC before the start of their session. Make sure you have your presentation available on a USB stick and are there before your session to copy your slides on the computer. PowerPoint and PDF slides are acceptable. You will not be able to use your own computer, so your entire presentation (including potential videos) needs to be copied to the presentation PC.
Poster Presentation
- To maximize visibility, papers accepted for a Poster presentation at the main conference will have:
- A 2-minute Spotlight presentation at the designated Spotlight Session (Timed presentation of 2 minutes maxed)
- A Poster presentation at one of the poster sessions
- A dedicated poster panel will be provided for each paper accepted for Poster presentation
- A dedicated poster space will also be available for all papers accepted for Oral presentations
- Authors are expected to be present during their designated spotlights and poster sessions
- Poster Boards are 80cm x 170cm (width x height), portrait orientation, see Image. We recommend a poster size of 80cm x 115cm (width x height), but other dimensions that fit the board are also acceptable
Instructions on Spotlight Presentations
- Authors of all accepted Posters will have the opportunity to present their work within a dedicated Spotlight session
- Spotlight presentations will be timed 2-minutes talks
- For the Spotlight presentation, please prepare a PPT (or PPTX) file that consists of
- A cover slide with the paper title, authors information, affiliations, etc.
- Max 3 – 4 slides with content that can be presented in 2 minutes
- The Spotlight slides will be collected and merged into a single file for all spotlight presentations within the same Spotlight session; each slide will be timed so it automatically progresses after a certain time, e.g., 4 slides = 30 seconds per slide. You can include your own timing that adds up to 2 minutes in your submitted slides (to have less time for title slide, for example). If no timing is provided, we will time the content slides evenly across the 2 minutes.
- The spotlight presentations need to be:
- Uploaded to CMT as supplementary material to your submission: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/FG2024
- The submitted file should be named Paper ID XXX.ppt(x)
- The deadline for submitting Spotlight presentations is 17 May 2024
